What Your Customers Really Think About Your Nintendo Switch
Now, you’re considering getting in on the Nintendo Switch fun, or you already are. Well, either way, it’s time to hit what I hope will be the million-dollar question: how do customers feel about their Switch consoles?
Of course, they’re all in the commercials, glowing reviews pouring out like a never ceasing stream of sweetened honeyed nectar onto our tongues but what’s the real story for your everyday gamer? Let us behold and see what people are saying about their nintendo switch oled, nintendo switch lite and all those nifty swish games.
1. The Ultimate Gaming Console for All Ages
For starters — everyone loves the flexibility of the Nintendo Switch. Sure, it can play games in all sorts of different shapes and forms — be they the flagship model, the handheld-only Nintendo Switch Lite or super-slick Nintendo Switch OLED version — but its main hook is how it can function as a home console.
It is sort of the Swiss Army knife for gaming. You’re chilling at home one moment, clobbering with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate; another moment, you are on a road trip playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild in the car. That portability? Absolute game-changer.
But here is the kicker: It is family-friendly, too. We see lots of users saying that it is the console you need for family time. You can imagine four people fighting in Mario Kart or cooperating in Overcooked 2; all the chaos, laughter and mild arguing that entails.
2. The Nintendo Switch Lite: Small but Mighty
Not everyone needs all of the bells and whistles. Editor: For some, the Switch Lite is a correct match. It is lightweight, portable, and above all else cheap. Nonetheless, that comes as a bummer to some customers who had assumed it would offer detachable controllers or TV connectivity.
So, if you’re looking to connect it up to your television for some potentially life force-sucking Super Mario Odyssey play, you may want to stick with the original Switch. However, for solo players, it is literally a mini power plant in your hands.
3. The Nintendo Switch OLED: A Visual Feast
So the Switch OLED—the one that everybody has been talking about. Customers can’t get enough of that beautiful 7-inch OLED display.
For those who love eye-candy games such as Splatoon 3 or Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this screen upgrade will make your eyeballs explode with glee. Get a taste of a brand new level of immersion, and players are all here for it.
However, many people who upgraded from the original Switch to the OLED iteration, would readily tell you it isn’t a great leap. Sure, the display is much brighter, and sure, the kickstand is considerably stiff and firm (bye bye wobbly stand; welcome sturdiness).
However, if you’ve got a Nintendo Switch already and you’re not specifically enamoured with high-end visuals, then the OLED might not be a system you have to purchase.
4. The Nintendo Switch Pro—Is It Coming?
You may be asking now, but hold up — where is that Nintendo Switch Pro? Dot fans have been waiting years for it and customers have guessed at it for just as long. It was like waiting for a pizza delivery that was taking a couple of minutes too long.
The standard Switch and OLED are perfectly great, of course, but plenty within the gaming industry have been clamouring for some kind of Pro model with a little more gumption—perhaps upgraded Specs like those from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, better graphics, an improved workstation.
Currently, Nintendo is apparently fine with their Switch offerings but we wouldn’t bet against that dream Switch Pro hitting sometime soon. (Ahem, Nintendo, are you there with us?)
5. Nintendo Switch Games – Endless Fun But With Some Customer Complaints
Okay, now on to the important stuff: Nintendo Switch games. The Switch has titles overflowing from its classic Nintendo franchises — Super Mario, Zelda and Metroid — to third-party staples like Fortnite and Minecraft.
Switch games are hot sellers, but there are a couple of complaints sprinkled in here and there. Others lament the lack of AAA titles pushing the console to its limits.
And so is the Nintendo eShop — as nice as to go in and pick some games, it’s a little um… odd sometimes. As one customer quipped: “I’m out here trying to snag a deal on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe not audition for Indiana Jones.”
6. Battery Life: Some Hits, Some Misses
Battery life, which is a real mixed bag worth talking about. Switch Lite has an excellent battery life over the original model, but on the other hand if that full Switch gaming on-the-go is your thing, you may wind up hunting for a charger during those long voyages.
The Nintendo Switch OLED does a little better on this front but is by no means a home run either. A good portable charger will cost you but trust me, if you are going to play for hours without your heart near home do invest in that.
Tip: Buy a charger with a long cable (or you’ll end up twisting your Switch to the weirdest angles)
The Final Word: Is the Nintendo Switch Truly Worth It?
When many consumers have spoken, and it appears the Nintendo Switch has something going for it. The versatility, family gaming options and on-the-go fun are things people love about it.
From solo play on the Switch Lite to visually stunning experiences on the Switch OLED (and the promise of that still-rumored Switch Pro) we can all agree there’s plenty to love here.
Now sure, it isn’t optimal — the battery life can sometimes be an issue, Joycons will drift after a while and there’s still a big question mark surrounding the Switch Pro.
Otherwise, it seems customers are pretty happy to drop some money for a high quality system in the Nintendo Switch. If you are a casual gamer or a dedicated fan, it is a console that will get its claws in you.
So, if you’re wondering whether it’s worth picking up — I mean, come on, Nintendo has its goddamn place in gaming books and you will enjoy it a lot with a Switch. Happy gaming! 🎮
